Elite Team Practices

As a coach, it is sometimes easy to fall into the same old routine for practice plans, coaching points and team concepts. Sometimes it might be beneficial for both the players and coaches, no matter what skill level, to let a fresh face and voice lead them through practice.

Throughout the 2015-16 season, RHA will be offering different packages giving teams the option to have RHA Instructors lead their players through a series of practices. Our goal is to help accelerate the development of your players by letting one of our coaches put your team through a new and cutting edge practice. It will allow current coaches to view their team from a different perspective and hear an impartial assessment from an RHA coach.

Here at RHA, we are strong supporters of the new ADM (American Development Model) introduced by USA Hockey. We agree with the ADM in that developing kids properly should be highest priority rather than winning games at a young age. In regards to specific practice tendencies, we also feel that increasing repetition and overall activity level during practice is a priority along with having FUN!

Players in our practices will go through a high number of reps and increase their overall activity level while focusing on many different areas including:

  • Skating/Shooting/Stick-handling/Passing Mechanics

  • Power Skating/Edgework/Over-speed

  • Body Contact and Angling

  • Puck Protection and Battling

Other areas of emphasis are also available upon request from current coach and at the discretion of the RHA Instructors.

Practices run by RHA Instructors will be held on teams current practice ice. Please contact leaderer.rhahockey@gmail.com for more information regarding availability and prices.
